Friday, July 25th
Open Poetry & Music Session
Starting @ 1 p.m.
Location: Chama Arena (behind the Branding Iron Motel)
Open mic performances by Cowboy Poets, Musicians and Storytellers. Fun for the whole family. Featuring performances by “Wild Bill” McKay, “Hayduke” Don Hurich, and Western & Bluegrass band, Wing and a Prayer. Entry is FREE.
Horse Clinic- Day 1
Starting @ 10 a.m.
Location: Chama Arena
Karen Brown of “Only Natural Training” offers a 2 day horse and rider clinic focusing on problem solving. Maximum of 12 clinic participants. Karen is a published author and expert trainer. Her list of clients is very large and she maintains an almost year-long waiting list. She works with an emphasis on "natural horsemanship" techniques. This clinic is an excellent opportunity for beginning and experienced riders alike. Trainers are encouraged to attend. Parelli, Hunt and Dorrance followers will appreciate Karens' style and methods. The cost is $350 per participant. Monitoring is FREE! This is an excellent value- Karen’s expertise usually brings upwards of $2000 for 2 day clinics.

Showtimes: 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. Location: Community Center (corner of 4th & Pine Streets)
Tickets: $2 adults, 50 cents kids
Filmmaker Kendall Nelson invites you to explore one of the most culturally significant icons of the American West— the cowboy.
In this artful documentary, filmed throughout Nevada, Idaho, Oregon, and Texas, today’s cowboys reflect on a timeless lifestyle and share the inner-workings of their personalities, quirks, and most intimate beliefs. Gathering Remnants is a 50 minute documentary filmed in color and shot in Anamorphic Widescreen.
Ranch Horse Competition- Round 1
Starting @ 1 p.m.
Location: Chama Arena
Entry Fee: $25 per person
Details of this judged competition and awards will be posted on www.chamacowboydays.com. All competitors will be given a commemorative gift.

The Great Train Robbery
Train departs at 11 a.m. and returns at 3 p.m.
Admission: $49 adults, $25 children (11 and Under)
The Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad offers a special train: The Great Train Robbery! We heard tell there’d be a good, old-fashioned shoot-out between the Good Guys and the Bad Guys.
